Jessica Maree Villanueva

B. Psych Hons, M.Psych. (Clin)

Clinical Psychologist

Jessica is a warm Clinical Psychologist who has experience treating children, young people and families across various settings including hospital based child and youth mental health service, school setting, childcare settings and private practice.

Jessica's practice is evidence based, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming . She supports children, young people and families navigating anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), behavioural difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), trauma, emotional dysregulation and school avoidance/attendance difficulties. Jessica draws on evidence-based therapies including Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, Parent Management Training and Family-Based Treatment (FBT) where appropriate. Sessions are structured and visual with clear goals, between-session practice and progress tracking to help families feel confident about what to do next.

Jessica uses a strengths based and practical approach in a way that builds trust, improves communication and creates real change. She strongly believes that therapy works best when the whole system feels supported — not just the young person and ensures that parents/carers are meaningfully involved in therapy. Jessica combines relationship-focused work with clear strategies families can use at home and in everyday life. She balances developmentally appropriate confidentiality with active parent involvement through psychoeducation, problem-solving and shared skill-building so families feel aligned rather than stuck. Jessica's collaborative approach includes liaising with schools and other professionals and supports to help strategies translate across settings.
